COVID-19 Update
Dear Austin Orthodontics Patients and Families,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our office follows the up-to-date recommendations made by the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the CDC, and OSHA. In following these recommendations, we have made some changes to the way we will be doing things due to the current situation.
We have made the following changes to help protect our patients and staff:
-Patients will have their temperature checked and they, or their guardian, will be asked some screening questions upon entry to our office.
-We have hand sanitizer available upon entry to our office, and stationed at other areas for you to use as needed.
-We ask that the patient will have brushed their teeth prior to arriving at the office to avoid congregating at the brushing station.
-We ask that following check-in, only the patient and one support person or guardian remain inside the office. We ask that any other family members or friends wait in their car if possible.
-Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
-We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
We will be completing additional training and refining procedures this week as we look forward to resuming a full schedule next week. We will be contacting those patients with appointments that were cancelled in March first to reschedule. We will then contact patients who had early April appointments. As we complete the rescheduling of patients from late March into early April, we will then reschedule appointments that were cancelled from late April into early May.
During these next few weeks, please do not call the office to reschedule your appointment. We will be using the available phone lines and staff to contact and reschedule patients that were cancelled.
Sincerely,
Dr. Austin and Team
